Wausa Speech team traveled to Crofton today and brought the Speech HEAT! The team came out second overall and brought home some more Wausa Pride and shiny bling!

Congratulations to Holly Johnson as she was selected by the faculty of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts to participate in our 2023 Nebraska Young Artist Awards Day. 50 Nebraska students were selected in the area of Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Theatre and Film & Emerging Media Arts. Holly submitted 4 pieces of her drawings, including a colored pencil drawing of blueberries, and 3 charcoal drawings which included her grandfather, praying hands and a statue.
Holly will visit the University of Nebraska at Lincoln on April 5th, for a tour of the UNL Arts Quad and facilities, meet faculty and current students in the Art Program and conclude with the dinner, awards ceremony where she will receive a gift and certificate. Holly has been awarded a $500 scholarship to UNL - Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.

Last night the Lady Vikes traveled to Hartington to compete in the first round of District action,
they fought hard throughout and even though they did not come out on top, our Vikes made Wausa proud!

Two Wausa vocalists have been selected for the honor of opening the Nebraska State Wrestling Competition.
Seniors Emma and Kilee will be singing the National Anthem in Lincoln on February 17th at 12:00 p.m. before the Fourth session of the NSAA Wrestling Championships.

Miss Adalyn traveled to Nebraska City's NCECBVI School for the Blind to compete in her age group's Braille Challenge.
Out of her division Adalyn came out on TOP with a 1st Place finish! Congrats Adalyn!
