Mr. Hoesing, the Superintendent at Wausa Public Schools stated, “Mr. Anderson goes above and beyond to help the students and staff each and every day here at Wausa Public Schools. His passion for students, calm demeanor, attention to detail, and strong work ethic has been a vital asset to our school. He works hard to ensure that our staff have what they need to be successful each and every day while holding a high standard for both our teachers and our students. You can almost always see him in the hallways helping a student, showing care and compassion while still holding accountability, and working with staff, whether that is our guidance counselor, our teachers, or even our support staff to make our school better. He treats people with dignity and respect, and he in turn is well-respected among the staff here. Shane is also a graduate of Wausa Public Schools, and his knowledge of our community and his ties within it have been instrumental in his implementation of the Wausa High Internship Program (WHIP).”
Shane Anderson is the current Principal at Wausa High School. He just completed his 20th year in education. He and his wife: Staci (Married 15 years) have three daughters: Kenley (13), Kambree (9), Maryn (5) Meila (2)
Shane’s graduated from Wausa High School and then earned a Bachelors of Science in Education 2002 from the University of Nebraska Omaha, Social Science Endorsed. He later earned a Masters of Arts in Educational Administration 2015 from the University of Nebraska Kearney.

He was a social science teacher at Norfolk High School for two years as well as the Asst Boys Basketball and Baseball Coach. He has been the Wausa High Principal since 2020.
Shane comes from a family that has teaching in its blood, and he believes it’s a profession that when you see the importance and value of it up close, daily it is inspiring. He stated all he has ever wanted to do is to teach and coach. He has had great mentors along the way which have shaped him into the person he has become. He stated coming back home to Wausa as an administrator was an unexpected opportunity he is very thankful for. Shane has such an admiration and love for the community of Wausa. He stated he knows the childhood he had, how much he admired the teachers he worked with growing up, which was something he wanted to try to give back to the community. The school and community are very committed to each other, and the staff, leadership and school board are committed to making Wausa a great place to live and educate your child. It is a place he is very humbled to be able to be a part of again, and also a place that he is excited to raise his own kids in. Shane stated this type of recognition is more of a reflection of the great things the students have done and all the people he is blessed to work with then anything he has done as a Principal.
Congratulations to Mr. Shane Anderson on this accomplishment. Thank you for your commitment to education and for serving students, parents, teachers, staff, and your community.
